What paper work do I need to transport my gun?

You will need your EFP and UK or Irish certificates.

Can I hire a gun or rifle?

Hiring a rifle or gun is very easy, just let Hobson Hunts know what you require. If you are not sure our sporting agents are here to advise.

Do I need to take rifle bullets or cartridges with me?

Some rifle bullets are easier to source in the British Isles but on most occasions it is both simple and cheap to purchase bullets and cartridges in the county that you choose to hunt in. Hobson Hunts partners can provide these.

How much ammunition can I bring with me?

International regulations govern the amount of ammunition each aircraft passenger can carry. At present the maximum permitted amount is 5 kg (11 lbs) this includes the wait of the security box the cartridges or bullets are being transported in.

What are trophy rates?

A trophy rate is payable to the national government on specified shot quarry. It varies depending on quarry species and is based on the length of the horns, in the case of mouflon and chamois or the tusk length with reference to wild boar. Fortunately Hobson Hunts can provide hunting prices that include any size trophy.

 
How will I get my trophy home?

With the majority of airlines trophies can only be carried if a valid veterinary certificate is presented by the passenger and trophies must be carried as checked baggage in the hold. But as it takes time to prepare a trophy, Hobson Hunts will on most occasions have the trophy prepared in the country that it is shot and sent on to you.

How long does it take to flight to the Balkans?

It takes around two hours from the United Kingdom to Croatia and Slovenia and three hours of flight time to travel from the UK to Bulgaria.

Will I be met at the airport in at my destination?

Yes, Hobson Hunts will make sure that the local shooting guides and an interpreter is on hand to met you at your chosen airport.
