Report On The Driven Wild Boar Hunt, Bulgaria, from the 12th to 15th December 2010.
A pack of wolves runs straight through the line of guns. While the thirteen British guns on this driven Wild Boar hunt find it hard to control their excitement at seeing so many large predators near at hand, the presents of the wolves puts an end to this first drive of the day. (pictures of the hunt below).
The day before at Sofia airport, with all easily through customs, Hobson Hunts Senior Sporting Agent, Simon, had met the hunters . Their rifles and luggage were taken to the waiting mini-bus and after a brief break for lunch, had arrived at the hotel set in the hunting forests of South East Bulgaria.
The next day, at 6.30am the hunters were taken to the first drive. With beaters and their dogs presented and a short safety talk given, the days four drives could begin. The hunters halted for lunch at the end of the third. A full day was evident as darkness fell with the conclusion of the fourth drive.
By the time the tired hunters had been returned to the hotel and had a hot shower, the long dinning table was set out with another excellent meal. Where they discussed the seven Boar shot that day.
