Shooting Abroad

The paper work to transport your shotgun or rifle by airplane will be organized by Hobson Hunts.

Traveling from the United Kingdom you will need a EFP (European Firearms Permit) and your United Kingdom or Irish certificate to bring your gun or rifle back. It is important to bring only the guns listed on your certificates.

Guns should be carried in a hard, lockable case. Rifle ammunition must be in a separate case as do cartridges, though these are cheaper in Bulgaria and can be supplied through Hobson Hunts. The weight of ammunition should not exceed 5 kg per person.

All airlines need to have prior knowledge of your intention to carry a gun. It is very important that you inform the ticket agent of your gun-details before purchasing your flight tickets. You should also allow plenty of time for check-in and security formalities.

With Hobson Hunts it is possible to shoot without the possession of a UK or Irish license but it is easier with one.
